I had Bored to Death season one for Christmas, really good so far. Just discovered though that HBO cancelled it after season three. Oh well two more seasons for me to watch.

“It feels like he’s a character that’s going to be around a while. It’s more than the power that he enjoys. He’s a force. He’s right in the thick of things. That’s what I really like: He’s obviously so important to this story. And he’s a fun character to play, and to be in his shoes. In his very expensive shoes.”

As part of a promotion for the second season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in NYC is putting an original 1920s train back into circulation. This follows an impressive schedule of events, tie-ins and promotions throughout Atlantic City for the premiere of season one last year.
This Prohibition-era train (from 1917) was formerly on display in the Brooklyn Transit Museum, but will now run along the 2/3 line in Manhattan during four September weekends leading up to the second season premiere.
The train will have all the comforts of the 1920s — meaning no air conditioning. Instead, expect ceiling fans, prickly rattan benches, drop sash windows, and individual hanging holds for standing passengers. It will also be decked with period appropriate ads and art work inspired by the television show.
The MTA says running the vintage train was their idea. HBO came to them looking for “something nostalgic,” said Eugene Ribeiro, the transit agency’s director of promotions. Yet according to the Wall Street Journal, HBO will be paying the MTA $150,000, as well as handing out free MetroCards later this month. -
