The new PS3 looks good

Seems like Sony have made a new PS3 to combat sales of the Wii U. Slimmer, cheaper PS3 or really expensive new console that as far as I can tell does nothing more than a PS3 or an Xbox 360.

So my PS3 is fucked again

Or according to Google anyway. I had the yellow light of death, got it repaired for £80 before Christmas, now the fan goes mad after a few minutes of doing anything. From what I’ve read the PS3 is headed for another yellow light of death. The shop that “fixed” it originally have actually botched the repairs!

Nintendo = Kids games
PC = RPG games
Xbox = Kinect games
PS3 = Gamer games

Only stuff that appeals to me is the PS3 ads. Which reminds me I need to play Gran Turismo 5.

I have decided

To quit Fallout New Vegas on my PS3.

After it killing the controller yesterday, I played it some today and it froze on a loading screen. Luckily when I pressed the PS button on the controller it actually allowed me the option of quitting the game so I did. “Please wait” came up as usual, the console then beeped and restarted itself instead.

How game developers like Obsidian can get away with releasing games not fit for sale is unbelievable.

If I hadn’t bought the collectors edition I’d return it and get a refund.

Fair enough Fallout 3 froze on me sometimes during gameplay out in the wasteland when loading textures, but I’ve had freezes during gameplay, freezes when loading trophies, freezes on loading screens, and the game has randomly quit itself a few times during combat. And every time it does this, I have to incorrectly reset my PS3, the same way if you do it with your PC it can be harmful to it, the same applies to a PS3.

So before this game destroys my PS3, I’m quitting it.

I’d post a review, but not much point really when the glitches are game-breaking.

For the sake of my PS3’s health

I think I may switch over to playing Fallout New Vegas on my PC instead.

Another game freeze so I had to hold the power button down on the PS3 to reset it. But when I just tried turning it on the controller didn’t recognise the console I had to plug it in with the USB cable and then it took about 10 seconds to recognise. First time that’s ever happened in the 3 years I’ve had it.

If my PS3 breaks then Bethesda or Obsidian will be buying me a new one.
